About Edd Hartwell

Passionate about and involved in music from a young age, I played guitar and saxophone in local bands before studying music at university. I graduated from Salford University with a BA Honours degree in music technology and production, before getting a job at Sarm Studios working for renowned producer Trevor Horn.

At SARM I cut my teeth working on albums by Robbie Williams, Yes, The Prodigy and Ed Sheeran, among others, and built up working relationships with many producers and mixers, including Stephen Lipson (Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Annie Lennox), Ash Howes (Spice Girls, One Direction), and Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, DJ Shadow). This led to me working closely with Stephen Lipson on the album “Emotion & Commotion” by Jeff Beck, which was nominated for “best engineered album” in 2009.

Since going freelance in 2011, I’ve continued to work closely with leading producers and artists, including work on the 5.1 orchestral mixes for major film scores, as well as build up my own client list as a producer and mixer. If you’d like to discuss your own project, please contact me here.

I now offer an online mixing service, offering an efficient and cost effective way to get your songs mixed. To find out more, please click here.
